Apollo Grimez was born Mike Seck in Germany and at an early age lived and breathed Hip Hop culture and learned the ropes during the famed "Golden Era". His introduction to music came through a lifelong friend and mentor Dice.C (LocoDice) who nurtured a young hip hop head into a seasoned performer and versatile M.C. Even though the first single "Coming from D-Town" breezed through the charts without much fanfare, it led to a support gig for none other than Snoop Dogg & Tha Dogg Pound in the winter of '96 that changed his life forever. Witnessing Daz and DJ Jam of the Dogg Pound produce one of the G-Funk classics of that era, ignited a fire that hasn't been contained since.
After having traveled around the globe Apollo finally moved to Australia in '99, quickly picked up where he left off and started crafting a sound that captures the sound of the Boom Bap era with Westcoast, African and European influences.
Apollo Grimez already has a support gig for Rap legend Xzibit, Obese Records CEO & MC Pegz and other big names under his belt. Apollo is currently producing for Gritty Committee, Ricky Shamroxx, Diggis. Other projects are also in the works, featuring Australian and international MC's.
